Your Data, Your Tools

In People Work, you are the main character. You need to trust that the system is private, that you can use it on any of your devices, and finally that you can use it on your own terms.

We don't route your workspace through our servers to an AI model. We just did so much work to keep your workspace private!

So People Work is built to run on your machine, locally. Your agent can use the terminal client for automation or connect through a local MCP server.

Exporting Your Data

Let's say you tell your agent, “Export my data.” You give it the goal; it figures out which commands to run. It might list your contacts, open their details, and retrieve your journal entries, then put that information into files for you.

When your agent requests information, People Work decrypts it locally and returns it to the agent. This example only reads your workspace, but the agent can also add and change information.

AI Providers and Exported Files

The exported files are outside People Work's encryption. They're a readable copy of the information your agent retrieves, not a complete workspace backup you can restore.

If your agent sends information to an AI provider, that provider's privacy settings and policies apply. Disconnecting People Work does not remove information the provider already has.

Connect or Disconnect Your Agent

This truly makes your data yours. Connect an agent that supports MCP or can use the terminal. Connect your agent to your email, your calendar, your Obsidian notes or Notion, whatever you want to do. Use People Work to get clear on your important relationships. Use your other tools to do what you think is best.

You can pause access by locking the People Work client your agent uses, or disconnect by removing the People Work connection from your agent.

We don't try to be the single tool for everything. Instead, we enable you to be yourself, working toward your goals, in your way.
