Once you're staying on track every day, add a recurring Weekly Review event with yourself to your calendar. We do ours on Sundays as part of our Full Focus Planner weekly review. This gives you time to catch up on anything you missed and have a mini-strategy session about what to do next.

During your weekly review, catch the app up on the current state of things:

  1. For interactions or commitments that were missed, reschedule or delete them.
  2. For interactions or commitments that you haven't journaled, write what you remember about them. Remember, this app isn't meant to store every fact that ever happened. What you remember is generally what was important, so even if it happened a few days ago, just a few words about the interaction or commitment will go a long way.
  3. Think about the upcoming week and the interactions you have scheduled or should schedule. Make sure they're on your calendar.
  4. Notice whether you're avoiding anyone and ask yourself why.

You're not questioning everything during this mini-strategy session. You're looking at what actions to take next and, at a minimum, noticing whether you're avoiding someone and asking why.

When I'm feeling overwhelmed, I'll turn on voice and either do a chore around the house or go on a walk. Talking through this exercise also helps me think about it more deeply than typing it out does.

I'll start the voice session with: “Let's do our weekly review in People Work.”

Let's do my weekly review in @People Work. Keep my context and goals in mind. Guide me through these steps one at a time:

  1. Review the interactions and commitments I missed. Help me decide whether to reschedule or delete each one.
  2. Find the interactions and commitments I haven't journaled. Ask me what I remember about each one and help me capture it.
  3. Review the upcoming week. Identify the interactions I already have scheduled and the ones I should schedule, then make sure they're on my calendar.
  4. Show me anyone I may be avoiding. Ask me why before helping me decide what action to take next.

Keep this as a mini-strategy session. Don't question or change my larger strategy, context, or groups. Ask me before rescheduling, deleting, or creating anything.
