The first step in getting clarity and making progress in your professional journey is to add the contacts you intend to connect with to People Work. These contacts can be anyone from an important colleague you talk with daily to someone you text once a year on their birthday.

Remember, People Work is not meant to be your Rolodex. Keep your contacts in another system. We suggest using the Contacts app on your phone. The contacts in People Work are the people with whom you want to plan regular interactions.

While you can enter these contacts yourself in the app, we've found that AI is perfect for helping you identify important contacts in your Contacts app or on LinkedIn. Start with something like:

Help me identify the contacts who will help me with the goals I've laid out in my context in @People Work. Let's talk about who comes to mind and how I can use my unique skills to help them reach their goals too. We'll also look at LinkedIn, my Contacts app, my calendar, and even my email to gather context for these relationships and get started on the right foot.

Remember: quality over quantity. If you add ten to twenty contacts, that's a good start. If it starts to feel like a chore, stop and find the people you're excited to connect with.
