Set Up Your Account

Now that you have the app installed, open it and let's set up your account. You'll verify your email, enter your name, and save your recovery key.

1. Verify Your Email

Enter your email address on the Enter Your Email screen. Most people use their personal email, but choose whatever best fits your situation.

Select Get Started and we'll send you a six-digit verification code. Check your email and enter the code in People Work. Once all six digits are in, the app will verify them for you.

2. Enter Your Name

On the Create Your Account screen, enter your first and last name. This lets People Work and our team know how to address you. Select Submit to create your account and private workspace.

A quick privacy note: We know your name and email, your account information if you subscribe, and how often your workspace is updated. We cannot see what is inside your workspace: your contacts, journal entries, or anything else you put in the app. That belongs to you.

3. Save Your Recovery Key

This is the part to slow down for. People Work will show your recovery key only once. Copy it and save it in a password manager, not in a file on this computer.

The app will ask, Have you saved your recovery key somewhere safe? Select Continue only when you have. If you still need to save it, select Not yet.

Your recovery key is the only way to get back into your workspace if you lose all of your devices. Because of our strict privacy approach, we cannot recover it for you. If you lose the key and every device, you'll need to start over.

4. Continue to Your First Plan

Once your recovery key is safe, account setup is complete. Next, you'll create your initial plan in People Work.
