Using People Work with Voice unlocks a new level. There is something about talking through a relationship issue that is core to our design as humans. Here's how to do it.

Let us know how you use AI, and we'll add more context:

Choose an AI agent to continue

We’ll show the connection instructions that match your choice.

If you don't use AI, voice can still help. Go on a walk and talk to yourself! Think it through, then come back to People Work and journal whatever became clear.

ChatGPT or Codex

You can use ChatGPT Voice with People Work directly from the ChatGPT desktop app. Open a new ChatGPT or Codex chat or task with the People Work plugin selected. Select Start new voice chat before sending a message, then start talking.

To use Voice while you're away from your computer, set up Remote:

  1. On your computer, open the ChatGPT desktop app and go to Settings > Connections > Control this Mac or PC. Select Set up or Add.
  2. Scan the QR code with your iPhone and finish pairing it with the same ChatGPT account and workspace.
  3. Keep the desktop app running and your computer awake and online.
  4. On your iPhone, open Remote in ChatGPT and select your computer. Start a new chat or task with People Work and select the Voice icon before sending a message.

Start talking about People Work. You might need to guide your agent at first, but it will get the gist of things.

Claude

People Work runs in Claude Code. Claude currently provides voice input there, not the full two-way Voice experience.

In Claude Code, enter /voice, then hold the space bar while you talk. In the Code tab of Claude Desktop, select the microphone icon. You can speak your prompts, but you'll still read Claude's responses.

Another Agent

For this to work, your agent must support voice while retaining access to People Work on your computer. Connect the agent to People Work, start its voice session or voice input, and start talking.

If the agent's mobile voice experience can't access tools running on your computer, it won't be able to work with People Work from your phone.

Things to Talk Through

I like to use voice to catch up on my Daily Check-in, Weekly Review, or Quarterly Reflection.

Or I'll use it to prepare for an important interaction or journal what happened afterward. Sometimes I'll use it to talk through a confusing relationship or group where I feel blocked.

Privacy and Control

Remember, People Work doesn't receive or track your voice conversations. We're not listening to your meetings. Your voice conversations are handled by your AI provider, so choose a provider and settings that match your privacy preferences.
